Ever since I was a kid, my father would point out the Stagecoach Inn in Salado, Texas, whenever we drove between San Antonio and Dallas. Over the years, I found myself doing the same thing with Sergio. It is a place I always wanted to stay.

This time, on our way to San Antonio, we finally did.

We stayed at the historic Stagecoach Inn and spent some time exploring the charming town of Salado. The inn is the second oldest continuously operating hotel in Texas and has welcomed an unforgettable list of guests over the years, including Sam Houston, Robert E. Lee, and the notorious Jesse James.

There was something special about finally staying in a place that had been part of so many childhood road trips and family memories. Sometimes the best travel moments come from finally stopping at the place you’ve passed a hundred times.
